Expectations
-
Arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before rehearsal and pick up no later than 15 minutes after the conclusion of rehearsal, as CCC and venues are not responsible for children left unattended outside of their scheduled rehearsal times.
Every Voice Counts, and all singers should strive for perfect attendance. Singers may miss up to three rehearsals per semester. Singers who miss more than three rehearsals per semester risk losing their ability to perform and their spot in the choir. It is up to the discretion of the choir director.
It is not acceptable to arrive late to rehearsal or leave rehearsal early. Please be respectful and arrive on time and remain for the entire rehearsal.
Please email attendance@chandlerchildrenschoir.com anytime a singer will be absent from choir.
Day Camp/Retreat is a once-per-semester, super fun, extended rehearsal. It is a required event. Please make sure these dates are on your calendar.
Attendance at Dress Rehearsals is required to participate in the concert. If you miss any part of the dress rehearsal you may not be allowed to perform in the concert. If you anticipate being absent from a dress rehearsal or concert, please speak with your Director. Absences from dress rehearsals or performances require written approval from your Director.
Soloists must attend dress rehearsals to be eligible to sing their solo at the concert. If a dress rehearsal is missed by a soloist, a backup soloist will be given the solo. Description text goes here
-
Bring your choir binder, theory book, pencil, and a water bottle to every rehearsal.
Do not bring snacks, drinks other than water, or toys into the rehearsal room.
Phones need to remain in your bag, on silent, and under your chair for the entire rehearsal.
Practice your choir songs [referred to as repertoire] a little bit every day. Your director will assign specific sections to practice on the rehearsal handout each week. Listen to and practice these sections while singing along and following along in your music. In addition, listening to all of the songs for that concert throughout the week will help you to learn them. Even 5 to 10 minutes of practicing each day goes a LONG way!
Behave in a manner that reflects excellence during rehearsals and performances.
Music binders are to be returned at the end of each semester. Lost or unreturned binders will be assessed a $50 replacement fee.
-
Perform at each concert. If it is on the calendar, it is mandatory. Choir is a team sport. You are an essential member of the team! Singers rely on each other to be successful in performance. Your attendance matters and the choir is not the same and cannot perform the same without you. Optional events are noted and not required. Concerts and tours are not optional events.
Call times [the time you are asked to arrive at a concert venue for dress rehearsal] are crucial and you need to arrive on time. Make sure to allow extra time for parking and meeting up with the group.
-
Correctly wear your CCC uniform and all its required pieces. Plan ahead to purchase all necessary items (shoes, hosiery, etc.). Large jewelry and accessories that do not allow for a uniform look throughout the choir are not to be worn with the CCC uniform.
Follow the washing and care instructions included with the uniform.
All uniforms are distributed in usable condition and should be returned in the same condition.
Return the uniform to CCC at the end of the season WASHED and cleaned.
Replacement fees of $100 per dress and $15 per accessory or tie will be assessed for unreturned or damaged uniforms.
Visit the Uniform Page for complete uniform guidelines.
-
Read the weekly email newsletter.
Parents are asked to volunteer at least one event per season (backstage at performances, chaperone on tours, TEMPO (the CCC parent organization, etc).
-
Tuition payments are due on the first of each month, August - May.
On the 15th of each month, a $10 late fee will be added to any unpaid invoices.
Your account must be in good standing to perform with the choir, attend tours, etc.
-
Withdrawals will not be accepted if requested within 30 days of a concert date.
Tuition expenses will continue to incur until the singer's music and uniform, including all accessories, are returned, with a maximum charge of $250.
No refund of tuition or fees will be made at any time.
