Aimee Stewart, Artistic Director
Aimee Stewart is the Artistic Director and Founder of the Chandler Children’s Choir. She has conducted numerous church and school choirs over the years and has studied conducting with Jana Minov.
Ms. Stewart has been a member of the Roanoke Symphony Chorus, the Utah Baroque Ensemble, the Connecticut Master Chorale, the Riznica Serbian Chamber Choir, and currently sings with the Phoenix Symphony Chorus. In the spring of 2008, Ms. Stewart was chosen to sing in the highly selective opera chorus of Ainadamar with Dawn Upshaw and the Phoenix Symphony Chorus under the direction of Maestro Michael Christie. She was again chosen to represent the Symphony Chorus in May 2009 in a small ensemble for “A Tribute to Rogers & Hammerstein.” In October 2009, she sang the role of Madame Mao’s Secretary #1 in The Phoenix Symphony’s concert production of John Adam’s groundbreaking opera, Nixon in China.
Ms. Stewart was invited to perform as the featured soloist during the Temple Square Concert Series in Salt Lake City, Utah in September 2009. She was a winner in the NATS competition in 2008 and has appeared as a soloist in the Messiah for the past 13 years. In 2004, Ms. Stewart performed as “Maria” in a community production of The Sound of Music. She has studied voice with Judith Kline, Betty Jeanne Chipman, and currently studies with ASU’s Anne Kopta.
Ms. Stewart received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1999 from Brigham Young University. She and her husband, Adam, are the proud parents of 4 children: 2 CCC Singers, and 2 prospective CCC singers! |

Lynette Kidman, Assisant Director
Lynette is a Graduate Student at Arizona State University studying choral education and has a Bachelors in Vocal Performance/Musical Theatre from ASU. She has arranged several choral pieces for ASU choirs to sing in their concerts and is assisting the men's chorus this year at ASU. She is a recording artist with two of her sisters in a group called THE KIDMANS and has sung with them all across the country. She has taught private and public music lessons, voice and piano, for years. She also loves to choreograph and direct for Musical Theatre and has won the AriZONI Award for best actress. She was in New York City for two years auditioning and performing in the theatre and is now looking forward to teaching. |

Jeremy Peterman, Accompanist
Jeremy Peterman, pianist, is active in the Valley as both vocal coach and performer. He earned undergraduate degrees in French and Piano Performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master of Music degree in Collaborative Piano from Arizona State University. At UNC-Chapel Hill, he served as rehearsal pianist for Le Nozze di Figaro (Mozart) in 2005; the following year he led both as rehearsal pianist and conductor for the university's production of Carlisle Floyd's The Sojourner and Mollie Sinclair. At Arizona State University, he has played for the Lyric Opera Theater's productions of Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss), Luisa Fernanda (Torroba), Cenerentola (Rossini), Tartuffe (Meechem) and for a student production of Argento's opera Miss Havisham's Wedding Night.
In the community, Jeremy has worked with Arizona Opera for numerous outreach and promotional recitals, as well as serving as pianist for their recent productions of Rigoletto, The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance and Carmen. He has also played under the baton of Michael Christie of Phoenix Symphony as rehearsal pianist for John Adams' On the Transmigration of Souls and Osvaldo Golijov's Ainadamar. He was hired in November 2009 to edit and run Phoenix Opera's Carmen supertitles. He was also rehearsal pianist and supertitles creator for their 2010 production of Madama Butterfly, as well as supertitlist for their December 2010 Die Zauberflöte. In addition, he has also been a staff pianist at the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria, every summer since 2005. He is also the assistant music director and organist at King of Glory in Tempe.
At Arizona State University, Jeremy is a candidate for a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano, where he specializes in adding the element of technology to the recital. While there, he has played for no fewer than three choirs. He is delighted to now be a part of the Chandler Children’s Choir and looks forward to a great spring season. |
